This happens when running updatesearchindexsolr via the ezpublish/console wrapper.

The reason is simple: the doctrine db connection does not get re-set when the main script forks child processes, as it does for the legacy db connection and cluster db connection. When the 1st child process terminates, the doctrine connection is closed for everybody else, including the parent.
