[4.0] - Sprint 3
Description
The current Algolia-powered doc search returns misleading results with a larger numer of pages.
It looks like newer pages are prioritized, which causes impractical results when big new sections of doc are added (recently this has been the case with a large batch of commerce-related pages)
As an example, searching for "template" returns commerce-related results instead of the main guide/templates page (see attachment).
Ideally, we need a possibility to influence the relevance of search results, for example by:
- assigning a score for individual pages in page metadata
- assigning a score per page path (e.g. pages in `guide` scored higher than pages in `releases`
A minimal result is changing the default ranking of results to consider relevance and not publication date (assuming publication date is the original issue)
