The current text in /design/standard/templates/class/datatype/edit/ezisbn.tpl is very confusing.
Noone understands what happening when you click the button. As it is only when someone forgot to run some update scripts I propose a Text like the following as replacement for the upcomming release

"The range information for ISBN-13 is not installed yet"
"Please follow the instructions for the ISBN datatype to install the valid ranges in the upgrade documentation."

"<h3>Import range informations</h3>"
"Import the recent range informations that have been distributed with ez publish"

And the submit button
[Import range information]

So or so I think that this process to "Upgrade in place" is questionable. I would propose to have a module in Admin->Setup that allows a post-upgrade-check where smaller things are checked and fixed on button press.
