Original images are stored in var/mysite/storage/images, in a dir structure that is node-based, with all img variations stocked along the original.

Stocking the originals in a different folder could be a better option, since image variations can ge regenerated by eZ on the fly, this would allow to:

• clear all generated image variations if the need arises
• pack all images for transportation to another server with a much smaller tar to move around

Best place to store variations: in the cache folders. This would likely speed up the cache clearing operations.
