In case a column needs to be migrated from varchar to CLOB type, a simple ALTER TABLE statement is suggested by the upgrade verification check in the admin interface.

Unfortunately Oracle does not allow to change an existing column type to CLOB, and some other, slightly more complex operation needs to be carried out.
